Victoria's Window

This portrays a dream escape world for a child. The dark forest is as though she in inside her own mind in the comfort of her own dreams. The darkness is her safe zone and the window is symbolic of her mind seeing into her dreams, like a portal. Even though it is dark, it is also warm, calm, quiet and beautiful. She’s not afraid of the darkness, and her window is emblematic of her looking out from within and provides her imagination the freedom to see what she cannot touch. The window shows two scenes to separate her worlds.

I painted this one because it spoke to me in this delicate, dark manner with which the mind can take us on endless adventures as through the eyes of a child.
