Working with a palette knife I’ve created texture in oil highlighting the curvaceous peony blossoms laying in a field of lush pastel. So, oil and pastel, mixed media, a bit of a hybrid painting. I’m embracing a balance of oil and pastel in a painterly abstract impressionist style with freedom of expression. This was inspired from a glorious afternoon stroll in the garden of Nedra Meteucci Galleries in Santa Fe, NM. Peonies were are the send of their season.
