Along Saint Vrain Creek

I loved the play of light on the creek in the background and on the rocks in the foreground. The colors and the light were too brilliant not to want to paint. The reference comes from along the road near Lyons, Colorado. While this painting was painted in the studio, it's based on a study and sketch on location several years ago.
